Chanderi is the much touted cluster which is a favourite haunt of tourists and designers alike. It is famous for its exquisite motifs on buttery soft silk and cotton body. The motifs are intricate and meticulous woven mostly using metallic yarn.
The meenakari motifs of Chanderi weaving has a special place amongst Indian weaves. Most common motifs used in Chanderi are paan, paisley, kairi, etc. More recently, the artisans have become equally comfortable with contemporary motifs such as diamond, squares, rectangle etc.
